summer running
I've increased my runs to 30-35 minutes, and I'm going to stay there for a while..... started running around my community because I don't care how my neighbors stare at me....The team run this Tuesday was fun! I got to run Cardiac Hill for the first time!XD. I will try my best to make it to every team run so I can meet more of the team.

Ran at the track for 50 minutes, which was a lot more then I expected to run on my first day of training. Trying to work on increasing my endurance. I worked on my sprints by running up and down on the hills. It was a lot harder then I expected it to be, so I am going to have to work a lot harder. Tomorrow I am taking a break from the track, and just run around the neighborhood.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone. I am sorry I have not been at your last team runs, I've had travel Lacrosse and just got back from a tournament at Massachusetts. Lacrosse is almost over, and I am starting to get more serious about running. Starting today I am going to run at the track for 20-30 minutes and I am going to try to do that every other day. My goal is to increase my time and be able to run longer distances. Once a week I am going to run for a longer distance and time. I look forward to attending the next team meeting.

Thoughts from Byrne
Hi Girls,
Thanks for all the great posts so far...please keep it up! Sounds like the training is going well so far so keep that up also. I'm sure many of you have looked at the pre-season rankings and have seen that we are #9 in New York State heading into the season. This is great and very exciting...it also means we will have a big bulls eye on our back. Coach Willman's sons are in a camp at Ward Melville HS and he told me he sees a big group of WM girls running together every day. So let's make it a point to get to the group runs that Castro and Knott are setting up. Other than that I hope everyone is enjoying summer and getting in shape. Talk to everyone soon.

Summer Training
Hey guys! Thanks to everyone who showed up for the team run, it was nice meeting some of our new runners. Make sure you try and make it when you can. So my trainings been going pretty well, I usually go for like a 50 minute run Monday through Saturday and than Sundays I do my long run. That's usually like 10 or 11 miles long. So that's pretty much it, its been really hot lately so make sure your drinking lots of water before and after your runs to stay hydrated. Bye... see ya guys at the next team run, it's Tuesday at 6.
running......
ummm well I've been going to the gym a lot with my mom and running on the tredmill, but I like running at Sunken Meadow SO much better. I've also been doing cross-training, and bike riding A LOT. Ok, well I think that's good for now. I really got to increase my time though, and go longer than 20 minutes...I will now!

summer running!
hey guys! I'm actually remembering to post! All right, so, I've been running about 5-6 days a week; I've been doing 20-30 minutes on most days, one long-ish run (40-50 minutes) and one medium length run (30-40 minutes).
I hope everyone can come to the team run tomorrow at six! Sorry about the sudden cancellation yesterday. The weather just doesn't cooperate sometimes, and Isa and I didn't want the first run to be through the muddy trails.

Hi everyone ! Just like Steph, I started my training in the beginning of July doing 20-25 minutes. Soon, I will be stepping it up a little bit to 2 days on, one day off with about 30 minute runs. Also, I have been cross training alot doing swimming. I'm sorry, I don't think I'll be able to make it to the team run tomorrow due to other plans I had set for awhile. :( Hope to see everyone soon!!!!!
P.S.- There is a track meet held at Hauppauge High School tonight and there are a few college guys trying to go sub 4 minutes in the mile , so if anyone would like to come watch, I'll be there!! :)

Summer Training
Hey everyone! I hope everyone’s summers have been going well! As for my training, I’ve been doing 25 minute runs every other day since the beginning of July. Starting tomorrow I’m going to switch to two days on, one day off and probably up the distance to 30-35 minute runs. I’ve also been running in the summer run series races most Monday nights, which have been anywhere from a 5K to a 10K. Can’t wait for the team run on Thursday and for the season to get going, because obviously XC is the best season ever:]

The Training Begins!
So far, I have been doing 20-30 minutes per run, and have just moved from running every other day to 2 days on, 1 day off. I've also been attempting to cross train with some swimming! Can't wait for the team run on Thursday!!
1st few weeks of training
I have begun my summer training and have been doing around 1.5-2.5 miles. I was very disappointed that the run had to be cancelled today due to the weather, but am looking foward to it on thursday, even though it did mess up my schedule for the week.
